Contemporary Gallery presents an exhibition of works by the artist, designer and Professor at the Department of Visual Communications at the Bezalel Academy, Avi Eisenstein. This is Eisenstein's first solo exhibition in Israel since his drawing exhibition at the Israel Museum in 1994, after many years of international activity. The exhibition includes monochromatic black and white paintings that focus on nature and landscape, and mediate between the two complementing perceptions; the harmonic Western perception, and the traditional Japanese perception which relates to the lack of perfection in nature. The starting point for each and every work is light – its intensity or absence – that forms the basis for the graphic dialog with the empty canvas.
